Practice Planning

Practice Design – EP

Not every practice should be the same. In this segment, TJ Rosene introduces you to Red, Yellow, and Green practices. This course is part of the Key5 Coaching Blueprint: Systems and Strategies

Keep It Simple Sixteen

The Keep It Simple Sixteen system is a complete notecard coaching system you can learn in just 45 minutes. Over the course of six 10-15 minute video sessions, you’ll learn sixteen clearly defined rules your team needs to compete at a high level. It includes instruction for Offense, Defense, Out-of-bounds, Transition, and Press Break and a bonus Warm-Up. Plus, you’ll receive three practice plans that implement everything in the system, step-by-step. This system keeps everything you need to coach on a series of notecards - literally, at your fingertips.

Better Practices through Layering, Progressions & Loading

Part of running great practices is knowing how to create a great learning enviornment and loading in teaching to your players. TJ teaches coaches the 3 elements of layering, progressions and loading. All 3 of these teaching methodologies are effective teaching tools for you to grow as a teacher coach and more importantly for your players to maximize their learning.

First Day of Practice

After only ONE day of practice, you will be surprised by your new team's grasp of the big picture of basketball! They'll be able to run an offense that can counter pressure and includes screens; the only shell defensive drill you’ll ever need; and, a play to bring the ball in from out of bounds, no matter which part of the court it goes out on. Your team will be able to run a full court transition, play early offense without setting up, break presses and stay tough in the end game to keep the lead and counter pressure.
